Keep the tools that work. Connect the rest.
Keep the tools that work. If your CRM, time clock or payroll company has an open API, CFOS can connect to it. Most software connects in 5 business days or less.
We email you when CFOS for QuickBooks opens, plus a few updates before then. Your address stays with Run On CFOS. One click unsubscribes.
30 days free, a 90-day money-back guarantee, and cancel anytime. It opens January 2027. We email you the day it opens.
What an open API means
An API is a door a piece of software leaves open so another piece of software can talk to it. When your time clock app has one, CFOS can ask it for approved hours and bring them to the job. Nobody retypes anything.
Your admin opens that door by signing into the tool and approving the link. We never ask for a password. And what moves where is agreed in writing before anything moves.
By kind of tool
Your CRM sends leads and won bids into the bid pipeline. A won bid becomes a job with its contract value. Your time clock app sends hours with the job and cost code, and CFOS gets them approved and sends them on to QuickBooks Payroll.
Your payroll company is a case where the deductions stay with payroll. CFOS lays out the certified payroll week from approved time and keeps labor burden by class. Your estimating software sends the estimate in as the job budget by cost code.
Your project management software can share RFIs, submittals and punch items. Your photo app can send photos to the daily. In each case we agree in writing which fields move and in which direction.
- CRM: leads and bids
- Time clock: approved hours by job and cost code
- Payroll: hours and classes, deductions stay with payroll
- Estimating: the estimate as the job budget
- Project management: RFIs, submittals and punch items
- Photos: onto the daily
How long it takes
Most software connects in 5 business days or less. We don't say that about every tool, because it depends on the tool. The conditions are in the list below.
The tool needs a documented API and your plan has to include API access. Your admin connects it. If the maker has to approve us, the clock starts when they approve.
- The tool has a documented API and your plan includes API access.
- Your admin connects it. We never ask for a password.
- What moves where is agreed in writing before we start.
- If the tool's maker has to approve us first, the clock starts the day they approve.
- If there is no API, we set up a file import instead.
When a file import is used instead
Some tools have no API at all. For those, we set up a file import instead. You export a file on a schedule you pick, and CFOS reads it.
It's not as quick as a live link, and we'll say so in writing before you agree to it. But it keeps you from retyping. You also keep using the tool your crew already knows.

What people ask
Which tools do you connect to?
That depends on the tool, so we don't publish a list we can't back up. Tell us the kind of tool and what should move on the request page. If it has a documented API and your plan includes API access, we can look at it.
Will my admin need to share a password?
No. Your admin approves the link from inside the tool, and we never ask for a password. You can cut it off the same way.
Does it cost more to connect my own tools?
No. The price is the same whether you use one module or all of them. Connecting your own tool doesn't add a charge.
Can I see how the link works first?
Yes. The request page explains the steps in order. The promise page has the terms in full, so you can read the fine print before you ask.
