CHANGELOG

What changed

New pages, figures that moved and rules that changed, newest first. Each page also shows the date its own words last changed, and the sitemap carries the same date.

  1. Wayfinder Consulting joins as the fourth partner

Wayfinder Consulting has a partner page with its people, its logo and what it does for subcontractors: the day-to-day bookkeeping and the month-end close. The bookkeeping pages now link to it, and every partner link carries a source tag so partner referrals can be counted.

  2. Payment laws by state, labor burden as a range, and a reference library

The retainage page now also gives payment deadlines and the pay if paid rule for all 50 states and DC, each with its statute, an official link and the date it was checked. Labor burden is shown as a range, and the common questions about it are answered outright. A reference library lists every citable chart and data file.

  3. Who owns each task, and twenty new pain pages

Every task in a subcontractor, from choosing cost codes to closing the project, is listed with the role that owns it. Twenty pages answer problems in the words subcontractors use. Writing across the site now uses literal verbs only.

  4. Citation kit, directory and legal pages, with a date on every page

The citation kit gives the exact names, bios, links and paste-ready markup for anyone writing about the author or the book. A directory indexes the pages worth finding. Privacy, terms and accessibility pages were written from what the site does. Every page now shows the date its words last changed, and that date matches the sitemap.

  5. Trades with no survey get derived figures

Trades that have no survey of their own now carry derived benchmark figures, each labelled as derived and kept apart from the surveyed trades.
