Know if you can make payroll in 13 weeks, not 13 hours
A 13 week cash forecast built from your own QuickBooks Online and pay apps. Weeks under your floor show red, and it rolls forward each Monday. You see a short week before payroll Friday.

It starts with the cash you have
The forecast starts with the cash in your bank today, read from QuickBooks Online. From there it adds what's coming in and subtracts what's going out, week by week for 13 weeks. You don't type in a guess for each line.
Everything comes from records you already keep. Open invoices, pay apps, open bills and the schedule your foremen use are the inputs. That's why the forecast stays honest, because it follows the jobs and not a hope.
Cash in is placed on the day the pay clock says
Each open invoice is placed on the day the pay clock expects payment, based on the terms on that job. If the GC pays thirty days after approval, the money shows in that week, not the week you billed. Retainage coming back is counted when it's due, and not before.
This is where most forecasts built in a spreadsheet go wrong, because they assume money comes in when you send the invoice. Pay-when-paid terms push cash later, and CFOS reflects that. You see how long the wait is.
Bills, labor and overhead
Open bills are placed on their due dates. Field labor comes from the 3 week lookahead your PMs and foremen keep, so next week's crew is in the number. Overhead comes from the overhead calculator in CFOS, so rent, office pay and insurance are in every week.
Payroll Friday is the one that keeps owners up at night. With labor and overhead both in the forecast, you can see which Friday is going to be tight. You can see it weeks ahead, when you can still do something about it.
Weeks under the floor show red
You set a cash floor, the least you want in the bank at the end of any week. If you don't set one, CFOS uses three months of overhead. Any week that ends under the floor is marked red, and the lowest week is marked so you can find it fast.
A red week isn't a failure. It's a reason to call a GC about a pay app, move a bill date or push a purchase. You decide while there's time.
It rolls forward each Monday
Each Monday the forecast moves ahead a week, so you're always looking at the next 13. Actuals replace the forecast for the week that just ended. An alert email isn't live, so you check it yourself, and it takes a minute.
It's included in the one price with job costing. It reads the same jobs and pay apps that everything else does. Nothing is typed in twice.

What people ask
Where do the forecast numbers come from?
They come from your QuickBooks Online and your pay apps. Starting cash, open invoices, retainage, open bills, the 3 week labor lookahead and the overhead calculator all feed it. You don't type the weeks in.
What is the cash floor?
It's the least you want in the bank at the end of a week. If you don't set one, CFOS uses three months of overhead. Weeks under it show red.
Does it email me when a week goes red?
Not today. An alert email isn't live, so you look at the forecast yourself. The lowest week is marked, so it's quick to find.
When does it update?
It rolls forward each Monday. The underlying numbers update every hour as QuickBooks Online changes. That keeps the next 13 weeks current.
